"My name is Daniel Carroll and I’m a senior at the University of Rio Grande, Ohio, USA. For the last four years I have been Student-Athlete on a soccer scholarship at University in America, a truly lifechanging journey and one that began at Elite Schools.
During my time at Elite, I was exposed to a vigor of studies that allowed me to realize my potential as a scholar; I was motivated as an athlete to pursue my goals; and I was guided onto a path that best suited me as a person. My personal achievements have come through hard work, but my tenacity for success was undoubtedly shaped by the tremendous staff at Elite, whose passionate regard for their students I commend.
For me, Elite provided a truly unique experience – it was active, engaging, exciting and intellectually stimulating all in the same day, every day. From the banter with the lads on the footy field, to the in-depth classroom discussions, everyday was meaningful and allowed me to learn and better myself as a person. Beyond the daily routine of class time and football, most of the qualifications I hold today; my first-aid, FA Level 1, Diploma in Business, and Distinctions in BTECH, were provided by Elite who went above and beyond to help me enhance my chances in the competitive university application process, and the job market.
This coming May, I will graduate university with a degree in English and an associate degree in Philosophy, which attests to the diversity in academic growth I picked up during my time at Elite. For, whilst I may have studied sport for two years, I was urged to explore my own academic interests. In all, my experience at Elite was one of personal, athletic and academic growth.
Above all, I was given the motivation to succeed – which is something a council estate kid from a low-income family not only wants, but needs."
